Getting your ex back is not going to be as easy as you wish. In fact it’s going to be quite a chore. The last time you spoke with your ex they were very strong in their criticisms of you or to put it more bluntly they read you the riot act parts one and two.
Now there’s no secret that the ones who love us the most can turn out to be our harshest critics. They have convinced themselves that they know you inside and out so that gives them a license to really rip into you when things go downhill in your relationship.
Your ex may also tell you that the reason they are being so rough is that you will make the necessary changes in your life. Once you do than they will have no problem rekindling the relationship.
The thing is you have to be very careful with this. That may be true to some extent but it can easily put and keep you on the defensive which is not healthy for anyone.
Keep in mind that it takes two to make or break a relationship. If you were not abusive verbally or physically then some of the blame should fall to your ex. That’s why you must guard against emotional games they may be playing to gain the upper hand within the relationship.
And it happens. You may know each other pretty well but neither of you can read the other one’s mind. Therefore accept some blame and be ready to offer a sincere apology and make the life changes you need to make.
But if they persist in placing the entire burden on you then stop them right there. It’s not that you want to get into a back and forth but it is important to protect yourself. If your ex wants to blast you for one thing or the other then it’s within your right to point out their flaws also.
Again you don’t want to get into comparing who was worse or who didn’t do what. But if your ex is serious about getting back together then it is not right for them to but all the responsibility on your shoulders. Nor is it right for you accept it.
