In simple words, horse tack is a name given to the accessories that are worn by a horse when they are used for riding. These are saddles, stirrups, halters, bridles, martingales, harness and bits. It is very important to buy horse tack with proper consciousness and keeping into account the comfort of the horse as well. Any level of discomfort will cause pain and uneasiness for both the horse and the rider. This is the reason why tacking of the horse is done by an expert.
Horse tack is of two types – English and western and depending on the type of use, you can decide which one you would prefer to use for your horse. The next important thing that every horse rider should keep in mind is to clean the horse tack regularly so that the life of the equipment increases and the horse also stays away from any kind of infection or problem. Initially horse tack was made of leather and it used to be heavy and hard to clean and keep it maintained. Nowadays horse tack is made of synthetic material which is light weight and easy to maintain also.
Horse tack of modern days is cost efficient as well. However, it depends a lot on the quality of the material used. For example leather tack is expensive and if you choose the synthetic material you will have to spend less. Western dressage bridle is mainly used for long trail rides and so it is made light in weight. The dressage bridle is mainly used for barrel racing and competitions. It is suitable for hot conditions. In fact if you are into horse riding for sometime, you must have known about the significance of equestrian accessories that are important for both the rider and the horse.
In fact, horse riding is possible and is successfully done only when the rider and horse are comfortable with each other and the instructions are conveyed and received properly. The rider needs to understand the language of the horse and at the same time horse should also immediately catch the instruction from its rider.
