Many of us are pet lovers, myself included. Some of us love cats, some of us love dogs and there are those of us who love all animals. I happen to be one of the latter. Caring for a pet is both exciting and rewarding and these additional family members bring extra love into the household. A pet can also provide good times for those who have children and create a lifetime of memories for everyone in the home. Its no wonder that so many of us these days bring these lovable creatures into our homes.
I’ve had great number of dogs throughout my 34 years of life. I’ve owned a Weimaraner, Yellow Lab, and various mutts through the years. Each one of these dogs has a place in my heart and those who are no longer with me are fondly remembered. To help me remember my dogs that are no longer with me, I began saving their Dog Clothes which I store in my garage.
I began dressing my dogs about fifteen years ago when I received some Dog Apparel for Christmas which came as a gift from my Grandmother. She had been dressing her dogs for as long as I can remember and she thought I would enjoy doing the same. At first I was a bit apprehensive but the sweater she got us was so cute that I couldn’t resist putting in on Cody who was my Chocolate Lab at the time. Back then we lived in a rather cold part of the world and though he had a very thick and healthy coat of his own, this sweater seemed to make him all the more comfortable.
After receiving this sweater and seeing how much my dog liked wearing the it, I started looking for additional pieces of Pet Clothing for not just Cody but my Chihuahua Jax as well. Jax was another great dog and because she was so small I enjoyed taking her with me whenever I would run errands. Though I enjoyed his company she was not just hairless but cold as well during the fall and winter months so when I found some Designer Dog Clothes at a Dog Boutique I ended up getting Jax not just a couple of sweaters but dog hoodies and stylish coats as well. She was a bit resistant to the idea of wearing anything as she was a feisty one but she eventually came around and not only did these warm her up but kept her looking good too.
As I loved to walk my dogs a couple times a day I was used to getting comments on my dogs but once I started dressing them up I got even more comments about how cute and adorable they where, especially Jax. Cody was rather large so people usually turned their attention to the little one, Jax. I also met quite a number of people walking my dogs, who themselves had become Pet Clothing enthusiasts. Prior to getting that sweater for Cody I had always though that my Grandmother got carried away dressing her dogs up the way she did but after that and meeting these other individuals I found that there was quite a large community out there that enjoyed putting their pets in various clothing and accessories.
These days I still dress my dogs up in various types of pet clothing and accessories however I no longer have to scour malls, swap meets, and pet stores for pet clothes as we now have a little thing called the Internet. I’ve found plenty of retailers online that specialize in only pet apparel and these retailers all offer the type of quality you just don’t find in your local pet shops which is of course a much appreciated change of pace.
I’ve purchased a myriad of things from online stores that I was unable to find in shops. It’s also been nice as of late, networking with people who share the same opinions on Dog Apparel that I do. I love spending time talking with other pet enthusiasts and sharing stories about not just our pets but the type of clothing we like to put them in as well.
